Mysterious Mongolia

Mongolia is by far the strangest place I have ever been, but oh so fascinating and with such an amazing history. Cheap tickets with Aeroflot brought me from Moscow to the capital Ulaanbaatar in October 2007.

The statue is of S. Zorig, one of the leaders of the Mongolian democratic revolution, who was murdered in 1998. And if you are ever there, you don’t want to stay anywhere else but at Zaya’s Hostel.
